Bridesmaids is my debut solo album. More info here.
223 Barkly Street, Footscray, from 8 pm
Just me and my guitar, along with bassist Ben Martin Hobbs, playing a bunch of songs – including some of the new stuff I’ve been writing over the last few months. Since doing our warm folky acoustic guitar + acoustic bass version for my solo album launches, Ben and I have been having a blast reinventing all the songs, plus some new ones and a cover or two, with sparse and punchy electric guitar + bass arrangements. We tried a few out at an open mic recently, and are thrilled to be bringing the new show to Littlefoot for the autumn music season.
We’ll be sharing the night with songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and performer Christina Green. Christina’s songs tell stories of people and events that have inspired her, and bring together politics, spirituality, quirky vignettes and tales, and personal stories with emotional layers – capturing the essence of things and conveying the richness of the everyday, drawing on vivid images and styles ranging from folk-rock and punk to cabaret/chanson.
All in all it’ll be an awesome night in what is becoming a new Footscray institution. Come and be a part of it.
Apart from Bridesmaids, I've done a few demo recordings recently that are destined for some future album… check the music page
